My grandfather came from 13 generations of priests. He moved to the United States, broke the chain and studied political science at Princeton, became a professor, worked in the State Department, and eventually represented the US at the Geneva Conference on Human Rights. Being born into a family of priests but studying non theological subjects at university and getting exposed to famous “disbelievers” as he called them: Epicurius, Voltaire, Hume, etc, he began to have a crisis of faith; however, a turning point occurred when he met Einstein.
